MalaysiaKini had just released a spanking brand new video today. The video is all about BERSIH’s mass rally but this time their focus is different. It is no longer about the scenes of the rally or the aggression made by the authorities against the rally participants.
This time around, MalaysiaKini gave us the opportunity to hear for our own selves the voices of the common people who had participated in last Saturday’s huge mass rally. I have taken a look at it and particularly like that one scene where we have one rally participant said that our election process ‘dilacurkan’ by the powers that be. Boy, he really nailed it right on the dot there! :-) Yeah, this is one fine example where our own native Bahasa sometimes can put the message across the board better than any other languages.
Good work, MalaysiaKini. We should have more of this to let other Malaysians know that the past event was not political in nature. We need to combat the government’s media machinery; they have portrayed the past event as just another political gimmick organized by our political opposition parties. We of all people should know that it was not and it is up to us to let others know about the real truth.
You know something folks; the mass rally where I had personally participated made me feel really proud to be a Malaysian. What made Malaysia great is not the government and certainly not UMNO or Barisan Nasional. It is the common people like us that made Malaysia great! Despite all of our cultural and religious differences, we all wanted the same thing. We all wanted to have a better future not only for us but also for our future generations!
