I stumbled upon a video taken of a lecture given by a well known Muslim scholar yesterday and he gave us some kind of a warning about Harun Yahya. You can find out more about the warning from the video mentioned earlier down below.
Muslims all over the world should know Harun Yahya pretty well. Here in Malaysia for instance, many Muslim students cited Harun Yahya’s work in their term papers. Harun Yahya’s work has been a good reference for students all over. His videos and audios were quite popular among Muslims anywhere in the world too and the warning that this particular Muslim scholar has given out should come out as a shock for some.
Nevertheless, any warnings should not be taken lightly. Hence, I would take the liberty to forward this video to the attention of our Malaysian Religious authorities and hopefully they would be able to come up with an explanation some time soon.
Stay tuned, folks!

Dear Brothers and sisters,
I am sending you a letter that I have received today from a Muslim yahoo group. I found very important to share it with as many Muslim brothers as we can.
-------
A former Marxist who had converted to Islam has tried to defend his old materialist views. Just as believed in the primitive cultures, he believes that Allah is somewhere in the heavens; commands the universe from a certain place, sitting on something like a throne. He has used a hadith of our Prophet (saas) as evidence. According to this hadith our beloved Prophet (saas) has confirmed a woman who had said, “Allah is in the heavens” (Surely Allah is beyond that). However this person assesses the hadith of our Prophet (saas) with his limited apprehension and according to the place he is sitting on Earth. Whereas, if he had been living in another milk way or galaxy and said that “Allah is in the heavens” (Surely Allah is beyond that), then he would also mean the presence of Allah in the Earth. Because, when observed from a distant place in the space, Earth is seen as a dust or cannot be seen from certain distances. Therefore, when someone in another galaxy says that “Allah is in the Heavens”, he means that “Allah is in the heavens over the galaxy as well as the heavens over the Earth.” Because according to a person who is on Earth, the sky is somewhere else.
A jinn, who prays by raising his hands to the sky of the milk way, means not only the sky of he place he is in, but also the sky over the Earth as the place of Allah’s existence. For a jinn who prays in a place which is 300 light years away from the milk way, Allah is there. For a jinn who prays in a galaxy under that, Allah is there. Because there is no direction in the infinity. When someone raises his hands to the sky, then he raises it to every direction. There is no east, west, north or south. Therefore Allah says in a verse:
Both East and West belong to Allah, so wherever you turn, the Face of Allah is there. Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. (Surat al-Baqara, 115)
That is what was meant in the hadith of our Prophet (saas). However, since the said person assesses this subject with his limited apprehension and a materialist point of view, he forgets this truth. And therefore he sees the Earth as the center of the universe and believes that Allah is sitting on a throne and occupies a place small as a dot in the universe, which is infinite (Surely Allah is beyond that). However, the verse in the Qur’an, which mentions “Allah’s Throne”, is allegorical and means the sovereignty of Allah. This means that Allah’s sovereignty covers every place. Allah (swt) may manifest Himself on a throne in the heaven. But this will not be His Self, but His manifestation. Therefore we cannot say “Allah is only here”. Allah is everywhere. The meaning of the verse is very clear.
In another verse Allah says that “...We are nearer to him than his jugular vein.” (Surah Qaf, 16). Since Allah is in a person, then He is everywhere. Because, the jugular vein is in a person and Allah is nearer to a person than his jugular vein, this means that “Allah is in that person.” Allah says “I am nearer”. Allah (swt). This truth is defined very clearly in the Qur’an.
Therefore, it is not right to accept the ideas of people who think with a materialist and poor understanding. Allah may manifest Himself in the Heaven as a very beautiful human being. But this will be only the manifestation of Allah’s Self. We cannot then say, “Allah is only there”. We cannot say that now either. We can never say that Allah exists only in one place. (Surely Allah is beyond that).
OK that's a real twilight zone video - this guy is about as clueless as they come about Ibn arabi - scary to think that there may be some who take him seriously - as always people should investigate for themselves before they stoop so low as to, in ignorance, call someone like Ibn Arabi a heretic or a kaffir.
Well, personally I have nothing against Harun Yahya. I haven't read a lot of his books but the ones I've read so far makes sense of many things.
Surely when he said worship yourself he doesn't mean that we stop our 5 daily prayers facing Makkah and abandon practicing what our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) did (following hadith).
What I got from reading his books makes sense the verses like 'We are nearer to him than his jugular vein'. And the saying that says this life on earth is like 'shadows' or 'illusions'. It makes it easier to digest why we can't sense God with our 5 senses. Why and how is it that God is everywhere but invisible and how can God know what is going to happen.
What I get from reading his books makes me realise things that are actually found over and over since my primary school days but were never explored or really realised its true meaning. What I now know is that God is above anything that He creates and nothing of which He creates is like Him. (Yes, I've got this over many times before but now I've a whole new dimension and new meaning to it and its great.)
So, since we are the created beings, there is no way that we can discuss him without saying things like 'throne' or all other things that belongs to the created world for how are we to know what is beyond our capabilities to know. But that is not a reason at all to equate Him to things around us which are the created things.
All the things that we see are indeed an illusion without us having the ability to know outside of this 'reality'. It is indeed a place of test for the soul. A illusion so perfect that we believed it to be real. In reality only Allah is real. From Him we came and to Him we return. All the trial and tribulations that we have to go through this Earth from birth to death. Death - the end of this great test. A test that will prove to us where and why we are where we are in the hereafter. In the beginning of eternity, where illusions will shatter and the real reality sets in. Only God is real and we cannot even breathe without Him supporting us.
Anyway, its a bit like The Matrix but not bleak like the movie at all for God is Most Beautiful, Most Gracious and Most Forgiving. The realisation of this eternal power also should make us afraid of His punishment. There is Heaven and Hell for reward or punishment for us. Hopefully we do well in being good and not destroying ourselves and things around us.
Dear brothers and sisters
This guy is super chap. He learnt some modern science from christian scientists and he is saying all these things against Harun Yahya who is doing a marvellous job to call people to recognise Allah and since the ancient times people recognised that GOD was in the Heaven. And in this hadith when the lady told this, Prophet Muhammad (S) did not contradict her nor start giving her lecture about milky way, throne, the unimaginable and unlimited vastness of Allah. It is said that the Throne of Allah was on the water before. So what? Would you call everybody kafirs for saying this?
The simplicity of Islam is it is making no fuss about these things. Anyone can understand Islam and Allah and no need to be scientists to say about Allah.
When we say Heaven, it's the noblest of the places and when Prophet Muhammad was invited by Allah to Heaven, he visited Allah there, got us 5 times prayers which are complusory for all muslims. So does this man who hurt all muslims by calling them kafirs for saying God is in the Heaven and He is on His Throne with His His majestic existance that is beyong comparison to anyone and we can imagine of...Let us leave our imaginations and comparisons and except the Truth as Allah and His Prophet said and leave this guy to himself to criticise a great person like Harun Yahya.
Moreover, in the Heaven people will see God and not in the heaven. The good people will be in the heaven with the prophets and they will be in the company of God Almighty Allah who will give them his "Tajalli". So this will not happen in the Hell.
Based upon all these simple facts, Allah is in the highest station where after that there is nothing beyond Him.. Just live the Truth of Allah to itself and you will not have any trouble. Otherwise you will leave your Iman because of some hardline salafis.
Dear Brother and Sisters,
Why do we discuss things which the whole of mankind doesnt know except Allah...we all are on the same level and should accept the fact that "ALLAH KNOWS BEST"...remember in The Noble Qur'an al-Anfaal 8:46
And obey Allâh and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength depart, and be patient. Surely, Allâh is with those who are As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.).
The Noble Qur'an 6:159
Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad SAW) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do.
The Noble Qur'an - Al-Hujurat 49:10
The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islâmic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allâh, that you may receive mercy.
