Are you looking for trouble, UMNO?

Folks!

Raja Petra Kamarudin of Malaysia Today posted something quiet interesting earlier today. If we go by what he had posted, it seems that we have some kind of a problem between UMNO and our Monarchies at the moment.

Let me quote for you folks some lines off his post:
“While on the subject of the Rulers, today is the first day of the two-day Conference of Rulers. The Conference normally starts with a pre-council meeting the first day followed by the second day’s meeting where the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Menteris Besar attend. But today was a special pre-council meeting. At today’s meeting the Rulers were supposed to hand over the Royal documents to the National Archives. And the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Menteris Besar, plus the entire Cabinet and Chief Ministers were all invited to the handing-over ceremony.

What was very odd is that no government leader except for the Menteri Besar of Kelantan turned up. According to the official programme, the Prime Minister plus his entire Cabinet and State Chiefs were slotted to attend the handing-over ceremony. Has there maybe been a slip-up in communication and the Cabinet and State Chiefs did not receive their invitations? If they did not then does this mean Nik Aziz Nik Mat was the only Menteri Besar who ‘accidentally’ received the invitation? Or did they all receive the invitation but are snubbing the event, except for Nik Aziz?

Well, tomorrow is the conference proper; so in less than 24 hours we will know the answer to these questions. However, at the moment, it looks like Umno is sending a strong message to the Rulers that it is not happy His Majesty the Agong has refused to extend the Chief Justice’s term of office which expires tomorrow.”

I would like to ask those folks over at MalaysiaKini and HarakahDaily to confirm this as soon as possible. If this piece of news is true, then we ‘Rakyat’ have to do something about it for they (UMNO) have gone too far! We have to show our support for the Monarchies and remind UMNO that they must learn to respect and honor our Monarchies if they want the ‘Rakyat’ to respect them (UMNO). :-(

Daulat Tuanku!
