Stinking politics in Malaysian Universities?

Thanks to reports published in MalaysiaKini and HarakahDaily yesterday, I finally understand what had really happened in UPM recently. It has something to do with their impending campus election. Hmm…

I’m not going to write long comments on this particular subject for I can see that bloggers such as Sagaladoola has all ready done a good job on it.

However, I do like to pose a few questions to UPM.
  • What is wrong with students that support Barisan Mahasiswa Bersatu or participate in ‘Persatuan Bahasa Tionghua’ anyway?
  • Aren’t they free to choose what they believe is best for them?
  • If our students cannot choose what is best for them, why even bother to have a campus election over in UPM in the first place? Stupid, isn’t it?
To the best of my knowledge, we do not have any Father or Imam of Fascism here in Malaysia (I know that some of you would argue with this. :-)). So please do not suppress our students from exercising their rights.

You know, folks. If fascism and suppression continues to haunt our Malaysian university students, would you dare to send your children to our local universities in the future?

Not me! I won’t send my children to Malaysian universities, InsyAllah. I don’t want my children to be brainwashed by our overambitious fascists. I don’t want my children to grow up being yes-men and yes-women like those spineless Putera and Puteri UMNO.

No thanks, fascists. I would rather send my kids to Al-Qaeda sponsored universities! :-)
