I don’t know when this little incident had happened; it could be last Saturday if we go by the date given on the video itself. I can’t really understand what this issue is all about but what is certain is that UPM students are demanding that UPM give a friend of theirs whose laptop had been confiscated by UPM security personnel a written letter of acknowledgment for the confiscation.
What I would like to know is that why the laptop was confiscated in the first place?
Can anyone out there shed some light on this story?
By the way, I really admire the way those UPM students helped their friend in this particular situation. It only shows that the Malaysian Chinese are indeed strong and united. They are more than willing to stand up and protect their own kind. Bravo! :-)
How I wish the Malaysian Malays (Melayu) would be more like them.

nevermind what his reason was. i still think that the students were right about acquiring a statement from the guy(pegawai) that he actually confiscated the laptop, pendrive, etc. its just puzzling why the guy is reluctant and attempt to leave without giving an explanation. More surprising is the actions of the police officer. does the students have no rights? is it okay to just have their things taken away just on a whim? (maybe). its making me, a f6 student nervous about entering local U.
