A stern reminder for Saiful Bukhari Azlan

Technorati Tags: ,,,,,

Alright, you should know who Saiful Bukhari Azlan is; he’s the guy that made headlines this week. Who wouldn’t be when somebody made a claim that he had been SONDOLed by Anwar Ibrahim!?

Now, I really don’t know what his next course of action is. He was supposed to hold a press conference yesterday but he canceled it at the eleventh hour. I wonder why?

Anyhow, I would like to take this opportunity to give Saiful Bukhari Azlan a friendly but stern reminder. He’s a naive young Muslim, isn’t he?

A good Muslim knows that slandering people is explicitly prohibited in Islam. Then again, we have too many ignorant Muslims nowadays. Give them lots of money and they would be willing to slander anybody. Well, I got news for such ignorant Muslims. No amount of money and worldly riches can save you from the torment of the Hereafter!

Kindly forward this friendly but stern reminder to Saiful Bukhari Azlan and his immediate family members via email. Let this spread around the World Wide Web like a wild fire! I’m not implying nor saying that he is guilty of slandering but I want to make sure that he understands what kind of mess he has got himself into. I want Saiful Bukhari Azlan to read this reminder before he makes his very next step!

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Slandering a Muslim (man or woman) is among the major sins.

Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And those who accuse chaste women, and produce not four witnesses, flog them with eighty stripes, and reject their testimony forever, they indeed are the Fâsiqûn (liars, rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).} [24: 4].

The Almighty also Says: {Verily, those who accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything touching their chastity and are good believers, are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter, and for them will be a great torment,} [24: 23].

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Avoid the seven great destructive sins." The people enquire, "O Allah's Apostle! What are they? "He said, "To join others in worship along with Allah, to practice sorcery, to kill the life which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause, (according to Islamic law), to eat up riba (usury), to eat up an orphan's wealth, to give back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting, and to accuse chaste women, who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers".

The Hadd (certain punishment) is mentioned in the Qur'an, Hadith and all Muslim scholars are agreed upon it.
