NST Online yesterday reported that both Dato’ Seri Samy Vellu and Dato’ M. Kayveas have reignited their ‘love affair’ recently!
It all started when Dato’ M. Kayveas accused MIC of not doing enough to help their Malaysian Indian community. Dato’ Seri Samy Vellu in his rebuttal waved a letter written by Dato’ M. Kayveas on the 12th of April 1985 thanking Dato’ Seri Samy Vellu for the study loan that he had received from MIC to support him when he was studying in England back in the 1980s.
Dato’ M. Kayveas raised questions about the plight of our Malaysian Indian community and you replied him with that personal thank-you letter.
What are you doing, Dato’ Seri Samy Vellu?
Dato’ M. Kayveas was not looking for any trouble with you. He only wants to work together with you on important matters concerning our Malaysian Indian community. He meant well, so you should have welcomed his effort with an open arm.
I’m a member of a local Muslim NGO. Last year, one of our community campaigns gave us the opportunity to visit ‘kampungs’ (villages) located deep within our countryside and then hand out food and goodies to the poor and needy. Some of that ‘kampungs’ were Malaysian Indian ‘kampungs’ and we were surprised to see their poor state of living. Right in front of our eyes, we saw poverty and hunger! I’m not making this up at all. I’m not going to mention what we really saw then here today. I don’t think you folks would believe me if I revealed them. :-(
MIC and PPP must work together to eradicate poverty in the Malaysian Indian community. Please throw all your political interests and ideologies aside and behave like some sensible community leaders. There are things far more important than those purse-wrenching toll hikes that both of you need to take care of.
By the way, I would like to ask those folks over at HarakahDaily, MalaysiaKini and Malaysia Today to write exclusive stories on the issues brought up by Dato’ M. Kayveas recently. He has raised some valid concerns lately especially on the fact that we have more and more Malaysian Indians who were forced to commit crimes in order to survive today. That was indeed shocking!
What can I say? This is what Barisan Nasional is all about. They are only good at creating economy that only benefits those at the top and the elite few around them. :-(
