The Lingam Tape: Worldwide screening? Bigger than Star Wars?

Yes folks!

If we are lucky, our current sensational box-office blockbuster Lingam Tape video may soon hit the worldwide market thanks to SUARAM!

SUARAM yesterday reported that they have asked a few United Nations agencies to publicize the Lingam Tape saga worldwide with the hope that the world’s greatest government would soon truly understand what the whole issue is all about and finally put an end to their current charade.

SUARAM’s calls for some publicity assistance was made official in the submission of a letter (MalaysiaKini has more on this story) addressed to the following parties:
  • High Commissioner for Human Rights, Special Rapporteur of the independence of judges and lawyers and
  • Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on the Situation of Human Rights Defenders.

Well, it is about time!

I truly applaud SUARAM’s move to seek international intervention on the Lingam Tape saga. We are going nowhere on our own. As matter of fact, I dare say that the Lingam Tape saga has become a silly tug-of-war between the magnificent powers that be and our political opposition parties. It is a stalemate, nobody is winning anything. We were hoping that our Monarchies would do something about it and so far we have seen nothing.

Nobody cares! Nobody gives a damn about it! :-(

Our frail hopes now lie with the United Nations. I sure hope that they can put some kind of pressure on the world’s greatest government just like SUARAM had hoped.

You know something folks; maybe news about our plea for help would be heard by George W Bush’s best buddy, Osama Bin Laden. Who knows, Al-Qaeda might come up with a spanking brand new video dedicated especially for the world’s greatest government. That should do the trick!

Bwah! Ha! Ha!

This one is for you, United Nations!
