MEDIA STATEMENT (1-12-2007 )
1. Hindraf wants to meet Prime Minister and UMNO leadership to discuss our 18 points demands.
2. Hindraf rejects MIC special committee and MIC hotline proposal
as it has not worked over the lasts 50 years.
3. Hindraf wants Special committee and hotline to be lead by Prime
Minister’s office.
With reference to the Prime Minister’s statement that he is prepared to listen to all Malaysians, we are hereby once again requesting an urgent appointments with the Prime Minister and the UMNO leadership to especially discuss the 18 point demands which has duly been forwarded to your goodselves on 12/8/07 at Putrajaya.
We wish to reiterate that we have no confidence in the MIC Special Committee and MIC hotline proposal as hundreds such committees and hotlines have been proposed and had before in the last 50 years but with almost zero results
We would like this special Committee and the hotline to be lead handled and implemented by the Prime Minister’s Office and the UMNO led Malaysian government.
It is plain and obvious that then UMNO’s mandore system (supervise ) has never effectively worked.
If the Prime Minister and the Umno led government are sincere in addressing and resolving especially the poor ethnic minority Indian problems, please meet and hear out.
We regret that despite the desperate public outcry on 25/11/2007, the UMNO led Malaysian government still went ahead and on 27/11/2007 ruthlessly demolishing the poor Indian homeless people’s squatter houses in kampung Tropicana Subang Jaya. No proper alternative houses were accorded to them.
Thereafter on 29/11/2007 UMNO came in with hundreds of policemen enforcement officers and bulldozers an UMNO mob and Indian gangster wanting to demolish the Arumigu Nava Thurgai (Behind Market Jalan Kuala Ketil) Hindu Temple , Sungai Petani Kedah. Only when thousand of hindus prevented them did they back off but promised to demolish the temple next week in the early hours of the morning as what they did to the Kg Karupaih, Padang Jawa Mariamma Hindu Temple on 30/10/07.
TO UMNO : We are a very small minority- only 8% of the population.
Please do not bully us with your mighty majortarian might ie. your army, police, enforcement personnel, Attorney General, Judiciary Civil service etc.
Don’t hit a fly with a sledgehammer.
Please treat us with some dignity and humanity.
50 years is enough!
Thank You,
Yours Faithfully
P. Uthaya Kumar
Legal Adviser”
I like this new approach of theirs better than their previous one and they should have done this long time ago. Perhaps it would be wise for HINDRAF to postpone their international lobbying trip and wait for the outcome of this proposed meeting with Pak Lah. After all, they still have channels that they can use to seek justice here in Malaysia.
Pak Lah, you better sit down and listen to their problems this time around. If you really love your job and your nice comfortable office, you better do it in all earnestly.

I thought some VIP has deemed them as "CROOKS" just not too long ago and would our governement stoop so low to meet them now?
By the way has our PM sat down with the Bar people yet?
I am an Indian doctor in Malaysia.
I did not attend the Nov 25th rally organised by Hindraf but my heart and sole was and is with Hindraf.
Like me, many Indian professionals are also with Hindraf because we feel that finally, someone has the guts to rise up against the tyranny of the racist UMNO led Government in Malaysia and the idiocy of the MCA,MIC, Gearakan and PPP who have practically sold the rights of the non Malays in this country.
Indians are generally poor people. And we have been poor since Independance. But what actually brought abt this displeasure against the Government suddenly on Nov 25th??
Nothing to do with opposition politics. Indians have been loyal BN supporters all along no doubt they were discriminated against by BN policies.
The snatching of Hindu bodies by Islamic religious bodies was one. M Moorthy, i'm sure we all remember him.
Shamala Sathiyaseelan, whose estranged husband converted her two sons without the knowledge of their mother was asked by the Syariah Court in Malaysia to bring up her sons as Muslims and if there was any indication that her sons were being thought Hinduism they wld be snatched away from her. How barbaric !!!!
Then the spate of Hindu temple demolishions by the state. Temple after temple. How can Malay Muslims not have respect for the religion of others. I'm sure Islam is not a cruel religion.
Put ur selves in our shoes. We demolish your mosques, how wld u take it? We ask Muslim mothers to bring their children up as Hindus.. is that OK? and we snatch your beloveds bodies away from you during time of mourning??
The deaths of Indian youths while in police ccustody was another issue which had troubled the Indian community.
Then we have racist UMNO threatening everyone with a Keris without any provocation. Why u wanna bathe fellow Malaysian when we have not done anything to you Hishamuddin? It's really unfair.
Some comments by UMNO Ministers and MP is unbearable. It Hurts. The solution is not " Kalau u tak suka u boleh keluar". It would be easy if it was. What if we say " Kalau u tak suka balik Indonesia " or to racist UMNO people " Kalau u tak suka negara berbagai kaum dan agama, pergi ke Afganistan or Pakistan"
Come on guys, grow up........ we are lucky to be here in Malaysia, dont make it a killing fields.
Newtons 3rd Law of motion. For every action there is an equal an opposite reaction. Nov 25th came, and Malaysian Indians held their peaceful rally.
The Government has to be mature. Hindraf has on numerous occasions sent memorandums, asked to meet the authorities, also wanted to meet the Prime Minister. But everything fell on deaf ears.
Prime Minister says he has BIG ears, but what use are 2 big ears if he is DEAF ??
Mr Prime Minsiter you know Hindraf wanted to meet you on so many occasions, Hindraf even had a gathering in front of your office in August and handed you a memorandum but what happened to the memorandum Mr PM, there was no reaction from you.
If Hishamuddin really wants to go down to the streets and soak his Keris, I think many others are willing to do the same. As Government Minister that too Minister for Education, Hishamuddin should be ashamed of himself.
Now do we want to fight amongst ourselves - it's Malaysia vs Malaysia now. Sad is it not.
Hindraf is mature, it has asked for dialogue with the PM for the umpteenth time.
Mr Prime Minister, please oblige, lets talk things over, lets unite for the sake of Malaysia.
