Do you know that more than 20,000 Burmese took to the streets recently in probably Myanmar’s largest anti-government protest, the largest the country has ever seen in the last two decades?
The strangest thing of all is that the anti-government protest is led by Buddhist monks and nuns! BBC News has more on this story.
Luckily for Barisan Nasional, they do not have such threats looming over them for the time being. Hmm… Hold on a second!
Maybe there is, after all. I do remember reading some reports published by MalaysiaKini and our Malaysian Bar Council on their websites recently that our lawyers would organize a peaceful stampede on this coming Wednesday. Come to think of it, our lawyers can be considered as monks too, monks of our Malaysian Bar Council. Both events do have some similarities after all! :-)

Well, our lawyers would do their part to save this country from further decay in the next coming Wednesday. Their efforts should not end on that particular day. It should be further strengthened and continued by other folks like us. If we want to have a better future for us, we should do something too.
What about the rest of you Malaysians out there? What are you going to do to help save the nation?
Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
The Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: It is obligatory upon a Muslim that he should listen (to the ruler appointed over him) and obey him whether he likes it or not, except that he is ordered to do a sinful thing. If he is ordered to do a sinful act, a Muslim should neither listen to him nor should he obey his orders.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 3423
Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
A desert Arab came to the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, one man fights for the spoils of war; another fights that he may be remembered, and another fights that he may see his (high) position (achieved as a result of his valor in fighting). Which of these is fighting in the cause of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The one who fights with the aim of exalting the word of Allah is a fighter in the way of Allah.
Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 3524
