The thing that caught my attention here are the general impressions given by online respondents on the virginity status of Malaysian women. The followings are some of the general presumptions that I can gather from their answers:
- 80% of Malaysian women lost their virgins before marriage! One respondent gave a higher percentage of 85%!
- 80% of Malaysian women living in urban areas lost their virginity before turning 30!
- 90% of Malaysian women lost their virginity before marriage! I think this is highly over exaggerated.
- 80% of Malaysian Malay (wanita Melayu) women lost their virginity before marriage!
- Despite the fact that Islam prohibits pre marital sex or adultery, many respondents believe that many Malaysian Malay women lost their virginity before marriage! They based their presumptions on indicators such as Malay porn websites and ‘khalwat’ raids that have been highlighted in the mass media.
- Malaysian women over 40s safeguard their virginities (anak dara) until the day they got married. Younger generations of Malaysian women are not so concerned with their virginity and tend to give them up before marriage. Sheesh!
In the end, this whole thing left me wondering. Are we that bad? Or to be more precise, are Malaysian Malay women that bad?
Care to comment, anybody?

It is not bad...but society has become just that. But really it is not much different along time ago...just that the issues are different. Even the late Tunku is known drinking alcohol. So...things change...or do they?
