I can see that Malaysians are now talking about finding some other ways to go to work everyday. Malaysians are now seriously looking for some other mode of transportations that can save them money at the petrol pumps.
Yes, the recent June 2008’s fuel price hike has forced Malaysians to think twice about using their fuel-guzzling cars to get to work. So far Malaysians have been talking about using public transportations, motorcycles, scooters and even carpooling.
But what about pedal power? What about bicycles?
You can see from the above video that many Americans have opted for pedal power to get to work. Bicycles are great; it is healthy and saves you lots of money. It looks pretty cool too!
Sadly, I really don’t think Malaysians will ever use bicycles to get to work. Malaysians are known to be a bunch of show-offs. Love to show off their big fancy or cheap Malaysian cars to colleagues, friends and families. Many will continue to use their cars even though they cannot cope with the current high costs of living.. If that is their attitude today, they will definitely go bankrupt one day. A lot of Chinamen have gone bankrupts in the last few months anyway and more will come in the next few years. The Chinamen community is doomed unless they change their silly attitudes. I certainly hope that Muslims and Malays would not follow their silly ways.
In a sense, the government is right. Malaysians just have to change their lifestyles (ubah cara hidup la…)
To all other Malaysians that have abandoned their fuel-guzzling cars and opted for some other modes of cheap transportation, you folks are alright. You are the kind of Malaysians that will survive the impending global economic recession. InsyAllah!
