Abdullah Ahmad Badawi commenting on calls for his resignation

Well Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, I have to respect your persistence. Things don’t look good for you but you insist on soldiering on. I’m sure you are well aware that many perceive your persistence as plain stubbornness.

Then again, I don’t think it would be right for you to quit even though many wanted you to do so. By leaving your UMNO or Barisan Nasional in a state of defeat, you will be remembered as the man who messed up what was once a great empire. I’m sure you do not wish to remembered as a failure, I guess this is why you chose to stay on as Prime Minister and Chairman of Barisan Nasional.

Good luck Abdullah Ahmad Badawi! Only Allah swt Knows what would happen to you in the next few years.

'Abdul-Rahman bin Samurah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to me: 'Abdul-Rahman bin Samurah do not ask for a position of authority for if it is granted to you following your request, you would be left to deal with it (on your own without having the support of Allah), but if you are granted it without your asking for it, you would be helped (by Allah) in it. And when you take an oath and find something else better than that, expiate for (breaking) your oath, and do that which is better.
