Jeff Ooi, there is one thing that you need to know and I certainly hope that you can also differentiate your past life as a stinging blogger and now as a public figure involved in mainstream politics. Hey Jeff, you are no longer doing ‘coffee shop’ politics like what you have done one time ago. So, hear me out.
Bloggers under normal circumstances speak for their own selves, most of the time writing things on the fly based on pure emotions without thinking of other people’s feelings and sensitivities. You have done this with flying colors, Jeff Ooi. As a blogger, you have pissed off and offended the Malays with your racist remarks, Islamophobic opinions and arrogant writings. As a born Muslim Malay, I can still forgive you because you didn’t know horse-shit about Islam and the Malays. I’m not sure about the rest of our Muslims and Malays though. They might consider you as a staunch enemy or something.
Now that you are going for politics full time, please follow the following pointer:
- Stop being so damn insensitive! As a public figure and a politician, you have to be more tactful. Learn from Mr. Lim Kit Siang. Follow his style, he is outspoken alright but he is an excellent diplomat. He knows what he can say and what he cannot say to the wide Malaysian public. This is something you are found lacking, Jeff Ooi.
Jeff Ooi, good luck and all the best!
