Would you be joining our Malaysian Bar Council in their '€˜Walk for Justice'€™ march today?

Folks!

I’m writing this at 2 AM and I would have my email send this posting automatically to my blog at 9 AM later in the morning.

By 9 AM, I will either be on my way to Putrajaya or probably has already reached Putrajaya along with my close friends. Yes, we are all going to Putrajaya all the way from Ipoh leaving our daily businesses behind in a convoy of five cars with one sole objective. To show our support for our bold and defiant Malaysian Bar Council!

We were told by our NGO friends that the attire for the day would be black and white with a jacket preferably. Well, I do not have that really. Instead, I will be there for the ‘Walk for Justice’ march in a full black ‘baju Melayu’ with a white ‘samping’ outfit instead. It doesn’t matter, as long as we are there to show our support is more than good enough. Don’t go there plain naked though or I will personally chase you myself! :-)

I would like to take this opportunity to share with those who have the intention to join our Malaysian lawyers in their march later today with some good advices, advices that were originally given by my NGO colleagues:
  1. Be there early! We have reasons to believe that Malaysian authorities may close key roads leading to Putrajaya later today. This is obviously to deter our Malaysian public from joining the march.
  2. Do not simply join any unknown groups when you are there in Putrajaya later today! Associate yourself with the right groups. Other than the members of our Malaysian Bar Council, NGOs and political opposition parties carrying banners and bunters would be there too. Join them instead. By the way, those folks from HarakahDaily, MalaysiaKini and Malaysia Today would probably be there also, I think.
  3. Be on the look out for any instigators! Special Branch, Super Special Branch and Ultra Special Branch would be there out of uniform too and they may try to create some unnecessary ugly scenes. If you see anyone behaving rashly or suspiciously later today during the march, please let our crowd leaders know about it. Don’t do anything stupid. Let’s not give our Honorable Malaysian Bar Council any unnecessary problems, please.
  4. The whole world would probably see us later today! News and rumors said that CNN, Reuters, BBC, Disney, ESPN and even Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda would be there too. I really don’t know about that. However, I do know that AlJazeera would be there to cover the marching later today. This is the real thing, not some stupid Akademi Fantasia television shows. So, let us behave ourselves!

That’s about it, I think.

To those who later would join our Malaysian Bar Council in their ‘Walk for Justice’ march, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to every one of you. I believe that we would be there in Putrajaya later today for the same concern, purpose and hope. All of our concern, purpose and hope are now being shouldered by our bold and defiant members of the Malaysian Bar Council. Let us carry the enormous weight along with them!

Thank you, Malaysians!
