You can read the full text of DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah’s speech from Malaysia Today. I would like to take this opportunity to quote some of DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah’s speech here today. His Royal Highness has said, quote:
“Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy which operates on the basis of parliamentary democracy. The monarchy in Malaysia is an integral part of the country, a symbol of identity, continuity, unity and strength. It is a symbol of identity because it is a national institution, one that distinguishes this country from all others. It is a symbol of continuity because the monarchy in Malaysia is an old institution and provides a sense of historical significance to the people. It is a symbol of unity because it is a focal point for citizens of all races, religions and political persuasions to rally around. And it is a symbol of strength because it exemplifies the virtues of justice, mercy and honour. Contrary to some opinion, the Malaysian monarchy is not all form and no function.”His Royal Highness further said, quote:
“For the monarchy in Malaysia to continue to function effectively as one of the main national axes around which society pivots, it must remain fresh and vital by fulfilling the role expected of it. It is an often overlooked or under-appreciated fact that the monarchy in Malaysia is supposed to play a productive role by being a healthy check and balance in the system of governance. The Federal Constitution mandates the monarchy to be the guardian of the just rule of law, an impartial arbiter in the democratic process and an overseer over the pillars of state. Some believe that the Rulers are supposed to do so only in a purely ceremonial sense, but I would argue that this contradicts the true spirit, if not the letter, of the Federal Constitution.”The messages delivered by DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah are as clear as water. DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah indirectly sent strong reminders to the powers that be that the monarchy in Malaysia is not here just for the sake of splendor and grandeur. DYTM Raja Dr Nazrin Shah also encourages the monarchy to be more vigilant and proactive in looking after the affair and administration of the nation as constituted in the Federal Constitution.
Those two strong messages may have been misinterpreted by some of our opposition political parties, subscribers of MalaysiaKini and readers of Malaysia Today. They viewed such messages as signs of confrontation between the monarchy and the current ruling government. I really think that the word confrontation used to picture such event is rather too harsh. I would not view such messages as signs of impending confrontation. Rather, such messages are signs that the monarchy is silently watching every step that the current ruling government is taking. They are watching and they would not hesitate to step in and take charge if the current stench, rot and filth in the current ruling government are not taken care off anytime soon.
Yes, poor Malaysians do have some hope after all. Alhamdulillah, I am thankful to Allah swt that our prayers and duas have been answered. Our monarchy has given us clear signs that they would fight and uphold justice for all Malaysians at all costs.
As a born Perakian, I’m very much proud of DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah and DYTM Raja Muda Perak Darul Ridzuan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah. As matter of fact, both Royal Highnesses are much loved and admired by Perakians, their humble subjects. Thank you DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah! Thank you DYTM Raja Muda Perak Darul Ridzuan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah! Thank you for giving us poor Malaysians some hope for salvation!
