Imagine this scenario. You have a hot date with your boyfriend tomorrow. But today, you woke up in the morning and found yourself in the mirror with big pimples (jerawat) on your lovely face! Some of you might scream in horror and some might just accept them as normal. Whatever it is, acne or pimples are definitely any girls worst nightmare and some may treat acne as one of their major hot date spoilers!
Pimples are known in the medical world as Acne vulgaris. It is actually an inflammatory skin disease caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units of our skin. It is common in teenagers reaching puberties but it can affect anyone up to the age of 40. There’s no way you can really control acne, it will come and go as it desires and that’s what makes them really irritating at times.
Nobody is quite sure how and why some people get acne more often than others. It could be partly hereditary but several factors are known to be linked to acne:
- Hormonal activities such as menstrual cycles and puberty
- Stress
- Hyperactive sebaceous glands
- Bacteria clogging skin pores
- Accumulation of dead skin cells
- Bacterial infection in the skin pores that causes allergy
- Skin irritation
- Use of steroids
- Use of medications that contains halogens
- Exposed to high levels of chlorine compounds
They are many acne medication products in the market today. No one can be quite sure which products would be the best since it has been recorded that some individuals have shown better responses to certain products where others don’t. So, finding a good medication for acne, pimples or taking care of those blemishes on your skin would require some trial and errors. Once you had figured out the best type of medication, stick to them like glue.
Now, what is your level of acceptance on acne? Do you find them normal or do you find them horrifying? Please place your vote here.
