Yes, I couldn’t agree more with The Expat survey result. It is true! Malaysia has the world’s worst taxi drivers and you don’t need expatriates to tell you that. Just ask any Malaysian and they can tell you hundreds of horrific tales about Malaysian taxis.
I have traveled to other parts of the world too and I can say that taxis in other parts of the world are much more decent, honest and friendlier than Malaysia’s. :-(

I agree on friendliness though. I've been Indonesia for lots of time. Although they ask for more (Though it's not more if convert to RM), but they are damn friendly. I get scold by Malaysia txi driver a few times, that piss me off quite a bit, but I have to take taxi in case of emergency also :(
