Dato’ Seri Dr Hj Harussani, Islam and Ktemoc!

I read with great interest a posting posted by Ktemoc on his blog earlier today which I believe was a direct response to a posting published in MalaysiaKini which is quite similar in context.

Ktemoc said, quote:
Talking about its ‘blindness’ or in fact, I think would be better termed as, its lack of moral courage and religious conviction, let’s examine the case of the Mufti of Perak.

That man committed seditious action that nearly resulted in inter-religious inter-ethnic violence. And the cruel shame of this man, who is supposed to be a father figure among the Islamic community of Perak, had been his actions were based on a pack of nonsense. There wasn’t an iota of substance in his allegations which sent a mob to confront some unsuspecting Christians at a church, with nearly dire consequences.

He shamefully disgraced Islam. But he is still a state Mufti, can you beat that!

With all due respect, do you know what is the job description and function of a Mufti in the first place?

Maybe this would shed some light into it. The website of the Perak Mufti Department has made this very clear for everybody. They have stated that, quote:
Memberikan nasihat mengenai halehwal agama Islam kepada DYMM Sultan dan Kerajaan Negeri, mengeluarkan fatwa serta lain-lain masalah yang berkaitan dengan agama Islam.”
I really don’t like the way you twist the facts and the real story behind that chaos which happened in Ipoh on the 5th of November 2006. :-(

Do you even know what the whole story was all about? Have you done your homework on it?

Let me help you in clearing up your stupid misunderstanding. On the 21st of November 2006, the StarOnline published a photo of the real person who started all that commotion in the first place. That person is actually a woman that goes by the name of Raja Sherina. She sent an SMS to Dato’ Seri Dr Hj Harussani (Perak Mufti) on the 21st of October 2006. As the Mufti of Perak, he has every right to be concerned with the allegation made in the SMS. He took the trouble to meet the woman and later raised his concerns on the allegation to a group of people in a closed-door meeting at the State Mosque of Perak on the 2nd of November 2006.

The so called mob that you said confronted Christians did not have anything to do with the Perak Mufti. Dato’ Seri Dr Hj Harussani was not behind that mess. Apparently some concerned Muslims got the wind of the allegation contained in that SMS and they turned up in numbers to show their disapproval. Alhamdulillah, the whole thing turned out to be a big misunderstanding. It is history now, a very bad history and I’m sure that every Malaysians have learnt a lot from that event.

What about you, Ktemoc? What have you learnt so far? :-(

Dato’ Seri Dr Hj Harussani is not a disgrace to Islam. We Muslims, concerned Muslims are damn proud of him because he has the guts and the courage to fight immorality here in Malaysia! He’s probably the only hope left for Malaysian Muslims at the moment!

On the other hand, I do agree with you that PAS is far from perfect. But hey! PAS is light years closer to Islam than UMNO. Unlike UMNO, PAS strives to follow the teachings of Islam but they could not follow everything just yet since the powers that be is blocking their Islamic progress. The rise of Islam is inevitable and unstoppable. Islam would be victorious in the end.
