Yes, even I was surprised to hear that they have rejected his apology. Everyone thought that this matter would be resolved amicably after Wee Meng Chee tendered his apology to all Malaysians last few days.
I met a few friends of mine earlier today and many were toying with the idea that the government is perhaps taking a little advantage from this fiasco. In the light of the current ongoing war of words between some government officials and some of our local political bloggers, they are perhaps going to use Wee Meng Chee’s case to their advantage. Let’s just say that they are going to flex some muscles and show ‘who the real boss is’ to everybody. How much this is true remains to be seen. It is just hearsay, coming out from the mouths of ordinary Malaysians.
If you are reading this somehow, Wee Meng Chee… Please remain calm. Don’t do anything silly that could further worsen the situation.
By the way, you readers out there can read more about this sudden turn of event from the StarOnline and MalaysiaKini. Stay tuned folks…

I think the cabinet may have missed the issue. I have perused Mr. Wee's apology and nowhere have I seen that his apology was for the purpose of averting the possibility of being charged. He merely apologises if his version of the NegaraKu had hurt the sentiments of Malaysian. So to consider and deliberate his apology on the premise that it was intended to be or for something more than that would be a misapplication of the cabinet's mind of the facts before them and this does not reflect fair judgement. If the cabinet rejects Mr. Wee's apology it may just be well and good but it has certainly nothing to do with the possibility of him being charged!
