American health organizations are against Breast Self-Exams?

I found something really weird a little while ago. It seems that some American health organizations have big problems with Breast Self-Examinations or BSE, which is a common practice for women in their effort to reduce the risk of suffering from breast cancer. It is a common knowledge that women who regularly practiced Breast Self-Examinations or BSE normally look for lumps or abnormalities in their breasts, many believed that breast lumps are common signs of breast cancer.

The following video may shock those who regularly perform Breast Self-Examinations or BSE but let us see why some American health organizations have big problems with such practice in the first place.

Sure, mammography is a better option for women but it would be wrong to say that mammography can detect breast cancer 100%! BreastCancer Dot Org has more on this story.

"The biggest misconception about mammography is that it picks up every breast cancer. In fact, mammography misses at least 10 percent of breast cancer. So if you feel a lump that doesn't show up on a mammogram, bring it to your doctor's attention. Get it evaluated."
